WindLogics Expands Met Tower Data Services to Meet Increased Demand
Company now manages data for over 700 met towers in support of the wind energy industry.
ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA, April 12, 2010 – WindLogics announced today the achievement of a significant milestone – 700 met towers managed using OnSite™ Data Management Services. Starting in 2005, WindLogics was one of the first groups to offer met tower data management services to the wind energy industry and now manages meteorological data for landowners, wind energy developers and wind farm operators across the United States and Canada.
Recently introduced OnSite features include automated tower status reports and the web-enabled AssetManager™ and DataViewer™ user interfaces. Tower status reports are delivered to OnSite customers via email and are used to identify sensor or tower malfunctions in early stages, when important corrective action can still be taken. AssetManager lets customers easily enter or view tower information, such as configurations, locations, photographs and maintenance history. DataViewer provides convenient access to data gathered from the towers. Data from single or multiple towers can be viewed and compared for many different variables (including speed and direction) and in a variety of formats (graphs, tables, and wind roses). Users can also export their data to a flexible text file format for additional analysis.
OnSite services are provided by the WindLogics Forecasting and Data Center, staffed by experienced meteorologists available to assist customers in understanding and interpreting their secure, near real-time data.
